Apple Pie Belgian Waffles

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Salted butter
  • 1/2 cup Light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Fine sea salt
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups Opal apples, cored, halved and thinly sliced
  • 8.8 oz Frozen Big–'N–Belgian Waffles, 2 waffles

Instructions

  1. Set a small saucepot over medium heat, add butter and allow to melt before adding sugar, maple syrup, salt, vanilla, cinnamon.
  2. Bring to a simmer and allow sugar to melt before adding apples. Lower heat and cook until apples are soft.
  3. Turn heat to low and keep warm while making waffles according to package instructions.
  4. To serve, place warm waffles on plates, spoon apple mixture evenly over each and garnish with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
