American Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups Unbleached all purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 12 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup Pecan pieces
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375°F.
- Beat butter, both sugars and vanilla with an electric mixer on high speed for 3 minutes or until the butter and sugar are light and fluffy.
- Add eggs to the cookie dough mixture and beat for 1 minute using an electric mixer on medium speed.
- Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time to the cookie dough mixture, using the electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pecans with wooden spoon.
- Drop cookie dough 1 teaspoonful at a time, 2 inches apart, on cookie sheet pans.
- Bake one sheet of cookies at a time in oven on center rack 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove cookies from sheet pans and cool on wire racks.
