Description

Natural protein from the Andes. Taste the difference. Heart healthy. Authentic from the Andes. Heart healthy. Ahhhhhthenticity. Taste the difference of rice grown in its natural environment. Native soil and climates affect its taste, scent and texture. Because we appreciate these differences, Village Harvest travels the world to bring the most authentic, premium rice to you table. The Incas called quinoa the mother of grain and fed it to their warriors before battle. Now people refer to it as a super grain since it offers a healthy balance of essential amino acids. Each of these nicknames is slightly off. Quinoa is actually a seed - not a grain - from a plant related to spinach, beets and Swiss chard. Call it what you will. We'll just call it delicious. FDA says that diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol may help reduce the risk of heart disease and other cancers. Product of Bolivia or Peru.
