  • Roast Prep Instructions: Thaw in the refrigerator for 24 hours before cooking. With a knife or scissors, carefully remove plastic casing and dips from the roast. Place on a pan in aluminum foil, or in a lidded casserole dish. Surround the roast with vegetables, if you wish. Pour half of the base of your choice, over the roast. Wrap or cover tightly. Cooking preheated oven at 350 for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Uncover and pour remaining baste over roast. Return to oven and cook uncovered for 10 more minutes. If you forget to thaw the roast, follow same instructions but cook for 2 hours and 20 minutes plus 15 minutes uncovered. Do not thaw or cook in the microwave. Cook thoroughly to a temperature of 165 degrees F. Do not eat frozen or uncooked. Great Options for Baste: Whisk these ingredients together to baste before roasting. 3t. Olive oil (or other vegetable oil), t. Soy sauce, 1 12 t fresh or ground sage (optional). Tofurky also gets along great with thing like veggie broth, minced garlic, a dash of red wine or herbs like thyme or marijoram. Keep frozen.
