Aluminum with carbon steel rack- Oven Baked Bacon: Bacon cooked in the oven tastes so much better than bacon cooked any other way and it eliminates a messy stove top! For even greater time savings, line the inside of your oven bacon pan with aluminum foil to nearly contain the drippings then roll up and toss when you're finished cooking. Oven-crisped bacon can be cooked to your preferred level of doneness ranging from chewy to crispy by simply adjusting the baking time. 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and ensure that your oven shelf is in the center of your oven not too high or too low. 2. Place bacon slices in a single layer directly on the rack ensuring that slices do not overlap each other. They can be spaced very closely together. 3. For chewy bacon bake 10-12 minutes or until desired level of cooking is achieved. Crispier bacon can take 15-17 minutes. Watch your bacon carefully to ensure it doesn’t overcook. 4. Once the bacon has reached your desired level of crispness remove immediately. Before initial use and after subsequent uses hand wash in warm soapy water. Extended soaking of rack in water is not recommended. Use a soft - bristled nylon or plastic scrub brush to clean your pan and rack. Dishwasher use is not recommended and may discolor the aluminum base pan but will not affect cooking performance. Metal utensils and scouring pads will scratch both the pan and rack and are not recommended. Nonstick rack and pan are oven-safe to 400 degrees F.
