About mmmpanadas
Kristen Fields' journey to food entrepreneurship was not likely or expected. With a passion for all things "fun," she was determined to travel the world as an unapologetic free spirit. Enter Cody and everything changed — Kristen's new partner in travel, life and love. Although she was perfectly happy teaching fitness classes in Austin, Cody was miserable behind a desk, yearning for the days he spent in Costa Rica eating empanadas. In 2008, Cody and Kristen began strategizing how to get Cody out of his day job and into the kitchen. Before Kristen knew it, she was pitching "mmmpanadas" to a local bar owner and their dream was born. After 10 years of curiosity, tenacity and grit, mmmpanadas won the grand prize in the 2018 H-E-B Quest for Texas Best competition.
