  • Easy Cooking Directions: Stovetop: 1 Serving: 1 cup water; 3 tbsp malt-o-meal; 1/8 tsp salt optional. 2 Serving: 1-2/3 cup water; 1/3 tbsp malt-o-meal; 1/4 tsp salt optional. Microwave: 1 Serving: 1 cup water; 3 tbsp malt-o-meal; 1/8 tsp salt optional. Cooking Tip: For richer flavor, 1/2 the water may be substituted with milk. Stove Top: Heat water and salt to boiling. Stir in malt-o-meal cereal gradually. Return to boiling while continuing to stir, then reduce heat to maintain a low boil. Cook 2-1/2 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve hot with milk and your choice of toppings. Microwave: Stir all ingredients in a deep microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave 1-2 minutes (because of differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may vary) more until cereal thickens; stir well every 30 seconds. Watch carefully to prevent boiling over. Stir. Let stand until desired consistency. Warning! Bowl may be hot! Protect hands when removing bowl from the microwave. To Open: Press and pull back.
