Cold water 1 1/3 cup. 4-inch pancakes. 18 - 21. Mix 3 cups. Cold water 2 cup. Tip: for thinner pancakes, add more water. For thicker pancakes, add more mix. 1. Heat. Heat pancake griddle to 375 degrees F (medium heat). Lightly grease griddle. Tip: for thinner pancakes, add more water. For thicker pancakes, add more mix. 2. Whisk. Measure mix by lightly spooning it into measuring cup and levelling it off. Whisk mix and water. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Do not over-mix. Let batter stand 2 minutes. 3. Cook. 1-1/4 minutes per side. For light and fluffy pancakes, flip pancakes. Flip only once, when tops bubble and bottoms are golden brown. Pour slightly less than 1/4 cup batter per pancake onto griddle. Do not eat raw batter. High altitude: no adjustment necessary. Strawberry chocolate chip waffles. 2 cups krusteaz chocolate chip pancake mix, 1/4 cups cold water, 2 tbsp vegetable oil, 2/3 cup chopped fresh strawberries. Whisk together mix, water and oil. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Gently fold in strawberries. Pour batter onto lightly greased and preheated waffle iron. Cook waffles until steaming stops and waffles are golden brown (about 3-5 minutes). Serve with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, if desired. Makes 12, 4-inch waffles.
