  • How to Peel and Eat Crawfish. 1. Separate the head from the tail by twisting the head slightly and pulling away from the tail. Discard the head. 2. Peel off the top segments of the tail shell by loosening from the side and pulling around the meat. Discard the loose shells. 3. Gently pinch the fan of the tail between the thumb and forefinger. Slide the meat out of the shell, removing the vein. 4. The meat is now ready for eating or adding to your recipes. Eat, repeat and enjoy. Thawing Instructions: Allow frozen crawfish to thaw in refrigerator overnight for best results. Preparation: Whole Cooked Crawfish can be enjoyed cold or warm. For cold, thaw crawfish in refrigerator. For warm, defrost and steam crawfish over a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Serve immediately. Microwave Instructions: Make a small puncture in the bag. Heat on high for 3 minutes. Rotate the bag and heat for an additional 3 minutes. Microwave wattage may vary, be careful not to overcook. Serving Suggestions: Arrange crawfish on a large platter with boiled corn, potatoes, and sausage. Serve with melted butter or cocktail sauce. Keep frozen. Do not refreeze.
