Ingredients
Idaho Potatoes, Mono and Diglycerides, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bisulfite, Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols Added to Protect Freshness.- Stove Top: 1. Combine water, salt and margarine (butter may be substituted for margarine) according to chart below. 2. Heat to a boil, remove from heat. 3. Add cold milk; stir in potato flakes gently. Do not whip. Microwave: 1. Combine water, milk, salt, and margarine (butter may be substituted for margarine) according to chart below in microwave-proof serving bowl. 2. Microwave on high setting, approximately 2 minutes for 2 servings, 4 minutes for 4 servings. 3. Remove from microwave. 4. Stir in potato flakes to moisten. Serve. Servings: 2 - 2/3 cup Water, 1/4 tsp Salt, 1 tbsp Margarine, 1/4 cup Milk, 2/3 cup Potato Flakes; 4 - 1-1/3 cups Water, 1/2 tsp Salt, 2 tbsp Margarine, 1/2 cup Milk, 1-1/3 cups Potato Flakes; 6 - 2 cups Water, 3/4 tsp Salt; 3 tbsp Margarine; 3/4 cup Milk, 2 cups Potato Flakes; 9 - 3 cups Water, 1-1/4 tsp Salt, 5 tbsp Margarine, 1-1/4 cups Milk, Entire bag Potato Flakes. For a creamier mashed potato, stir in additional hot water or milk. Less salt can be if desired.
