This product is not intended for ready to eat purposes and must be cooked thoroughly Dinner Rolls Prep Time 8 hours Cook Time 11 minutes Ingredients 1 cup water, boiling 1 cup vegetable shortening 1 cup sugar 1 ½ teaspoon salt 2 packages of active dry yeast 2 large eggs 6 cups of Hill Country Fare Unbleached Flour, unsifted 1. Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir until shortening is melted. 2. Sprinkle yeast into lukewarm water, stir until dissolved, then stir in eggs. 3. Add flour to shortening mixture, then add the egg and yeast mixture and blend well. 4. Cover and place in refrigerator for a minimum of four hours or overnight. 5. Lightly grease muffin pans with cooking spray. 6. Roll out dough on floured surface. 7. Form dough into one inch balls. 8. Place balls of dough in prepared pan and let rise in a warm place for 2 1/2-4 hours until size has about doubled. 9. Preheat oven to 425°F. 10. Bake 9-11 minutes. Instructions Texas Sugar Cookies Prep Time 1 h 20 m Cook Time 11 minutes Ingredients 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 2 cup(s) sugar 2 large eggs 1 Tsp vanilla extract 4 cup(s) all purpose unbleached flour 1 Tsp salt 4 Tsp baking powder Instructions 1 Using a hand mixer or counter-top mixer cream butter and sugar together.. 2 Add eggs one at a time and beat into creamed butter and sugar. Add vanilla into butter mixture and beat until mixture is smooth. 3 In a bowl mix all dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Thoroughly mix together to form a smooth dough. 4 Chill for one hour before baking. 5 When ready to bake cookies, preheat oven to 350F. Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Cut into desired shapes and bake until golden brown (about 9 - 12 minutes, depending on size and shape of cookie cutters used). 6. Frost with prepared frosting or Sugar Cookie Icing.
