  • You Will Need: For 5 one-cup servings (half box): 1 lb lean ground beef, 1/2 cup hot water, 2-1/4 cups milk. 1. Brown ground beef in 10-inch skillet; drain. 2. Stir in hot water, milk, 1 pouch sauce mix and 1 pouch uncooked pasta. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. 3. Reduce heat. Cover; simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat; uncover (sauce will thicken). Refrigerate leftovers. For 10 one-cup servings (entire box), make as directed above-except use 5-quart Dutch oven or 12-inch skillet, 2 lb lean ground beef, 1 cup hot water, 4-1/4 cups milk and both pouches sauce mix and uncooked pasta. Increase simmer time to about 12 minutes. High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): For 5 servings, increase hot water to 3/4 cup and simmer time to about 11 min. For 10 servings, increase hot water to 1-1/2 cups and simmer time to about 14 min. Microwave: 1. Crumble ground beef into 2-quart microwavable casserole dish. Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 5 minutes, breaking up beef after 3 minutes, until brown; drain. 2. Stir in 1 pouch sauce mix, 3/4 cup hot water, 2-1/4 cups milk and 1 pouch uncooked pasta. 3. Microwave uncovered on High 12 to 18 minutes, stirring every 6 minutes, until pasta is tender (sauce will thicken). Dish will be hot. Refrigerate leftovers. High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Increase hot water to 1-1/4 cups and last microwave time to 15-21 min. Making the entire box in the microwave is not recommended.
