  • You will need for 5 one-cup servings (half box): 1 lb lean ground beef; 1 cup hot water; 2 cups milk. 1. Brown ground beef in 10-inch skillet. Remove from heat; drain. 2. Stir in 1 pouch sauce mix and hot water until dissolved. Stir in milk and 1 pouch uncooked pasta. Return to heat; heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. 3. Reduce heat. Cover; simmer about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat; uncover (sauce will thicken). Refrigerate leftovers. For 10 one-cup servings (entire box), make as directed above-except use 5-quart Dutch oven or 12-inch skillet, 2 lb lean ground beef, 1-3/4 cups hot water, 4 cups milk and both pouches sauce mix and uncooked pasta. High Altitude: Because liquids may evaporate faster, increase water amount and cook times if needed. Microwave: 1. Crumble ground beef into 2-quart microwavable casserole dish. Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 5 minutes, breaking up beef after 3 minutes, until brown; drain. 2. Stir in 1 pouch sauce mix, 1-1/4 cups hot water, 2 cups milk and 1 pouch uncooked pasta. 3. Microwave uncovered on High 12 to 18 minutes, stirring every 6 minutes, until pasta is tender (sauce will thicken). Dish will be hot. Refrigerate leftovers. High Altitude: Because liquids may evaporate faster, increase water amount and cook times if needed. Note: Making the entire box in the microwave is not recommended.
