Description

Instead of reaching for canned corn, mix things up by getting some Hill Country Fare white hominy. These whole white corn kernels have been nixtamalized, which is a soaking/cooking process that removes the hulls and makes them tender and plump. A key ingredient in pozole (a brothy and hearty Mexican soup), hominy also adds depth to stews. Or use some to make Texas Caviar — a chunky mix of tomatoes, peppers and black beans — it’s a great dip for tortilla chips!

• White hominy for pozole (a hearty Mexican soup)
• Substitute for ordinary canned corn
• Whole white corn kernels with hulls removed
• Tender and plump
• Great addition to soups and stews
