Allergens and safety warnings
For your Safety: Keep away from children and pets. Only use lighter fluid designated for barbecue use to light briquets. Never add lighter fluid to an existing fire. Place grill away from flammable items. Discard briquets or ashes only when cooled completely. Store in a cool, dry place.
Warning: Carbon monoxide hazard. Burning charcoal inside can kill you. It gives off carbon monoxide, which has no odor. Never burn charcoal inside homes, vehicles or tents.- 1. Prepare the Briquets: Pile briquets into a pyramid shape. Add H-E-B Lighter Fluid to briquets according to lighter fluid package instructions. Open all grill vents and leave grill uncovered.
2. Light Briquets: Light pyramid of briquets in several places. Leave grill uncovered while briquets burn
3. Start Grilling: In approximately 10 minutes, or when briquets are predominately ashed over, spread briquets evenly. Use heat-safe tongs to spread pyramid of briquettes into a flat, single layer before grilling. Wait 5 minutes and begin cooking.
