From seed to spoon - We worked with two family-owned farms located in Hondo & D'Hanis to bring you these old fashioned Texas-grown outs. Just over 240 acres were planted & with the help of 6 months of sunny Texas days, this rich soil yielded a limited harvest of hearty golden oats. Preparation: Range Top: 1 Serving: 1 cup water (or milk); 1/2 cup oats; dash salt (optional) (for low sodium diets, omit salt). 2 Servings: 1-3/4 cups water (or milk); 1 cup oats; 1/8 tsp. salt (optional) (for low sodium diets, omit salt). 6 Servings: 5 cups water (or milk); 3 cups oats; 1/4 tsp. salt (optional) (for low sodium diets, omit salt). Microwave: 1 Serving: 1 cup water (or milk); 1/2 cup oats; dash salt (optional) (for low sodium diets, omit salt). Range Top Directions: 1. Bring water (or milk) and salt to boil. Stir in oats. 2. Cook about 5 minutes over medium heat or until thickened. 3. Stir and enjoy. Microwave Directions: 1. For 1 serving, combine water (or milk), salt, and oats in a medium microwave safe bowl. 2. Microwave on high for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes or until thickened. 3. Stir and enjoy. Caution! Contents may be hot when coming out of microwave.
