Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.- Oven: Preheat oven to 325°F. Remove giblet packet and neck. Place turkey breast side up in a roasting pan. Brush skin with oil or melted butter. Season and cover loosely with foil. Place pan in oven and cook until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 175°F. To brown turkey, remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of roasting time.
