Ingredients
Enriched Long Grain Rice (Iron Phosphate, Niacin, Thiamin Mononitrate, Folic Acid), Salt, Garlic, Onion, Tomato, Spices (Cumin, Cilantro, Oregano, Parsley), Dried Green Bell Peppers, Corn Oil, Dextrose, Beef Flavor (Yeast Extract And Natural Flavor [Derived From Amino Acids]), Annatto (Color), Chicken Flavor (Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Yeast Extract, Sunflower Oil, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Dextrose, Disodium Guanylate, Disodium Inosinate), Natural Flavor (Hydrolyzed Corn Gluten, Yeast Extract, Safflower Oil, Lactic Acid).- 1. In covered medium-sized skillet or saute pan, heat 1 Tbsp of oil on medium-high heat. Add 1 lb cubed skinless/boneless chicken thighs or quartered chicken breast. Let chicken brown until fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes.
2. Stir-in rice mixture. Continue browning to a light golden-brown color, about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Stir-in spice packet. Add 2 ½ cups water* and stir. Bring to hard boil for 3 minutes.
4. Reduce heat to a low simmer. Cover; let Arroz con Pollo cook approximately 18 minutes or until desired consistency.
5. Stir once more and serve. Buen provecho!
For a more dry Arroz con Pollo, use ½ cup less water than directed.
Home-Touch Tips: Substitute chicken or beef broth for water. Replace ½ cup water with 1 cup canned diced tomatoes. In Step 1, add fresh vegetables like diced onion, tomatoes, garlic and sweet and spicy peppers. Cook until transparent, then add meat.
