Ingredients
Long Grain Brown Rice.- Cooking Instructions: Stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring water, salt and oil to a boil. 2. Stir in brown rice. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes or until water is absorbed. Microwave: 1. In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish combine 2 cups water with 1 cup brown rice (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate). 2. Suggested Cooking Times - Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to medium high, microwave for 30-40 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Cooking Measurement Chart: 1 cup rice; 2 cups water; 1 tsp salt (optional); 1/2 tbsp oil or margarine (optional); 5 servings (3/4 cup cooked). 2 cups rice; 4 cups water; 2 tsp salt (optional); 1 tbsp oil or margarine (optional); 9 servings (3/4 cup cooked). 3 cups rice; 6 cups water; 3 tsp salt (optional); 2 tbsp oil or margarine (optional); 14 servings (3/4 cup cooked).
