Description

Conveniently diced and ready to cook, beef tripe is mild-tasting and easily absorbs the flavors of whatever you season it with, such as onion, garlic and herbs. Often used for making homemade soup like menudo, it’s also good for stews and heavy sauce-based dishes. Prepare tripe by simmering, sautéing, braising or deep-frying.

  • Stovetop: Season tripe as desired. Optional: Toss in seasoned flour. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown meat on each side for 2 – 3 minutes. Add broth, water, wine or liquid to cover tripe, add vegetables and season as desired. Bring to a boil and cover. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour until tender.
