Description
Corn Silk by El Guapo are the long, shiny, silky threads or elongated stigmas at the top of an ear of corn. Maize Silk, Indian Corn, Stigma Maydis, Zea mays and Maidis Stigma are other names by which Corn Silk is also known. Although it's not considered as food, Corn silk is used as a medicine because they contain significant amounts of potassium. Their color can vary from yellow to brown. Despite people discarding this part of the corn, this elote herb makes a savory tea due to it having the same compounds found in Thyme and mint. It can be found in dried, whole or powder forms.
