  • Prep Time: 10 minutes. Classic Cherry Pie: double crust for 9-inch pie, homemade or purchased; 1 egg white, beaten; 2 cans (21 oz.) Duncan Hines Comstock Original Country Cherry Pie Filling & Topping. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Press 1 pie crust into an un-greased 9-inch glass pie pan. Brush bottom and sides of crust with egg white. Pour fruit filling evenly into crust. Place vented or lattice crust (A decorative top crust can be made using a cookie cutter to make shapes; lay shapes on top of filling, brush shapes with egg white and bake) over filling, pressing edges together to seal; flute. Brush top crust evenly with egg white. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. If needed, cover crust with foil to prevent excessive browning. Cool pie on rack before serving. Makes 6-8 servings. Open and serve. Refrigerate after opening.
