Now that same Comet Rice box is a comforting beacon of quality and wholesome deliciousness. Many things have changed in the hundred years since that first consumer sized package of Comet Rice rolled out into the world on a horse drawn buggy, but our wholesome quality has always stayed the same.

    Ingredients

    Enriched Long Grain Rice [Rice, Niacin, Iron (Ferric Orthophosphate), Thiamin (Thiamin Mononitrate), Folic Acid].
  • Directions: One cup uncooked rice yield about three and one half cups cooked rice. 1. Measured 1 cup comet rice, 1 teaspoon of salt (optional) and 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (optional). 2. Add 2 cups water and bring to a boil. 3. Cover with tight-fitting lid. Lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving. Instructions Text: For a drier rice, use slightly less water. Cups cooked rice (about) 1-3/4, 3-1/2, 7. Rice (cups): 1/2, 1, 2. Water (cups): 1, 2, 4. Salt (tsp-optional): 1/2, 1, 2. Butter or olive oil (tbsp-optional):1/2, 1, 2. Microwave Directions: 1. Refer to chart for desired number of servings. 2. Measure all ingredients into a 2 to 3 quart microwave approved dish. 3. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. 4. Reduce heat to medium (50% power) for 15 minutes. Remove from microwave and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve. Note: Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.
