  • You will need 1 cup of water. 1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F (metal or glass pan). Stir cake mix and 1 cup water in medium bowl 50 strokes or until blended (batter will be lumpy). Spread in ungreased pan or casserole. 2. Squeeze fudge pouch 20 times (do not microwave). Cut off corner of pouch at cut line. Squeeze fudge onto batter in 8 straight lines as shown. Bake as directed below or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Bake 27-32 minutes for a 8 x 8 inch pan; 25-30 minutes for a 9 x 9 inch pan; 30-35 for a 2-qt pan. If using dark or nonstick pan, shorten bake time by 3 minutes. If using insulated pan, lengthen bake time by 3 minutes. High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Bake 8 inch pan 32-37 min., 9 inch pan 29-34 min., 2-qt casserole 32-37 min. Betty's Tips: Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream; To reheat, microwave 1 serving in microwavable dish on high 10 to 15 seconds or until warm.
