Description
A traditional blend of Riojan grape varieties with careful aging in mixed oak barrels. Our Crianza is the true embodiment of the Beronia style. A deep picota cherry red colour with a garnet edge, this wine is clean and bright. It is complex on the nose, with aromas of cherry and raspberry standing out, complemented by herbal notes – rosemary and thyme – and hints of cinnamon and tobacco. Very fresh and tantalizing on the palate, this wine displays a plethora of flavours, the most prominent of which are those associated with cake making such as vanilla and chocolate. This is a full-bodied, pleasurable wine with a very long finish.
Beronia Crianza was made from selected Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo grapes. Upon arrival at the winery the fruit was macerated for a few days prior to fermentation. Temperature controlled alcoholic fermentation followed, with the temperature kept below 26ºC. The Must was pumped over regularly to extracted the desired colour and aromas, then the wine was left for twelve months in barrels made of American oak staves and French oak ends to create the unmistakable “Beronia style”. Lastly, the wine was bottled and left to rest for three months prior to release.
Appellation: DOC Rioja, Spain
ABV: 13.5%
Varietals: 96% Tempranillo, 3% Garnacha, 1% Mazuelo
Aging: 12 months in mixed oak barrels, American staves and French tops
