Bellefontaine is named after the small French village where founder Lucienne Duforets is from. The artisans of this village are proud to carry on centuries-old traditions, ancient methods of fabrication and "L'art de vivre à la Française" (the French way of life). Today, Lucienne's doing the same in Houston, Texas with her gourmet line of French-style ice cream that's made from scratch using antique French Pot Machinery. In 2018, Bellefontaine was the 2nd place winner of the H-E-B Quest for Texas Best competition.
