Description
In the 1950's, New Orleans was a major port for bananas. So there was an opportunity to use them in a variety of dishes. In fact, the owner of Brennan’s restaurant challenged his chef to use bananas to create a new recipe, resulting in the now famous Bananas Foster. Created by sautéing bananas in butter, brown sugar and cinnamon with dark rum and liqueur and pouring the delectable concoction over vanilla ice cream, the dessert became the most requested dish on the menu. Now you can get the flavor at home with Bayou Brothers Bananas Foster Dessert Sauce. Try it warm over cheesecake, on bread pudding or sliced apples.
Slice 2 to 3 bananas lengthwise and sauté with 1 jar of sauce over medium high heat for 1 minute, then top over ice cream and enjoy.
