Description
Knights Valley is one of the most remote AVAs in Sonoma County, bordering Napa Valley to the east and Alexander Valley to the northwest. Protected by ocean influences, this region experiences a moderated climate, offering a longer and later growing season that develops more dark fruit aromatics. The soils range from alluvial at lower elevations to rocky loam on the more rugged slopes. The very fine textured soils allow for great drainage even at lower elevations, producing small berries that deliver powerful tannins and densely structured wines.
