Each year, H-E-B, AT&T, Abitibi, and Texas Disposal Systems combine forces to help San Antonio recycle their old phone books. Last year, we collected 66,000 books—this year we’re going for 100,000!
Area elementary schools are invited to compete for cash prizes that are awarded at a City Council meeting later this year. H-E-Buddy will be there too.
Drop-off locations
Drop your phone books at recycling bins in H-E-B parking lots. The bins are clearly marked Telephone Book Recycling Only. It’s important to only drop off phonebooks. Leaving trash or other recycled items contaminates the process, and the bin can no longer be recycled.
To find the drop-off location nearest to you, look at the map below. The last day for drop off at green H-E-B stores is Wednesday, November 18. The last day for drop off at yellow H-E-B stores is Wednesday, December 9.
