With just a few simple ingredients you can create a twist on the perfect appetizer. Cheese balls are a cinch to prepare and easy on the budget—a great choice for festive holiday fare.

Holiday Cheese Balls
Prep time: 2 hours | Makes 32 servings

  1. Combine ingredients in a food processor bowl and process for 30 seconds to 1 minute to a chunky texture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover with plastic wrap and place in fridge for two hours.
  2. Shape mixture into a ball and press down gently. Place cheese ball in center of a platter and surround with crackers.



Pineapple Pecan

1 can Hill Country Fare Crushed Pineapple in Juice, drained well
2 packages (8 oz. each) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
½ cup Hill Country Fare Chopped Pecan Pieces
½ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped




Maui Island

1 package (9 oz.) H-E-B Snax Maui Island Trail Mix
2 packages (8 oz. each) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
1 Tbsp fresh lemon zest
juice of 1 lemon




Tuna Jalapeño Pecan

1 can (6 oz.) Hill Country Fare Albacore Tuna
1 package (8 oz.) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
1/3 cup H-E-B Sliced Jalapenos, drained
½ cup Hill Country Fare Pecan Pieces
juice of 1 lime
½ cup chopped cilantro




Chicken Fajita & Grilled Peppers

1 package (8 oz.) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
1 cup chopped H-E-B Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Fajitas
½ cup H-E-B Ready, Fresh, Go! Pico de Gallo, mild, medium, or hot
½ cup chopped cilantro




Grilled Veggies & Feta

1 package (8 oz.) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
½ cup each: H-E-B Select Frozen Grilled Zucchini, Eggplant, and Peppers
½ cup H-E-B Sundried Tomato and Basil Crumbled Feta
½ cup chopped parsley




Wild Mushrooms & Walnuts

1 package (8 oz.) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
1 package (10 oz.) Central Market All Natural Frozen Wild Mushrooms
1 cup H-E-B Shredded Asiago Cheese
1 cup Hill Country Fare All Natural Walnuts, toasted
½ tsp nutmeg




Cranberry Apricot Walnut

1 cup H-E-B Dried Cranberries
1 cup chopped H-E-B Dried Apricots
2 packages (8 oz. each) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
½ cup Hill Country Fare All Natural Walnuts
2 Tbsp fresh grated orange zest




Smoked Salmon

1 package (8 oz.) H-E-B Cream Cheese, regular or fat free (softened)
2 Tbsp H-E-B Sour Cream, regular or fat free
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 green onion, chopped
1 package (4 oz.) H-E-B Smoked Salmon, chopped
1 tsp Central Market Organics Dried Dill
