H-E-B to Provide Free Blood Pressure and Glucose Screenings
Every Second Saturday of the Month   

SAN ANTONIO , TX – May 07, 2008 – The health and well-being of Texas families is extremely
important to H-E-B. So much so, that the company is launching “Second Saturday Health & Wellness Screenings.” The affordable health screenings will be hosted at all H-E-B Pharmacies, May 10 through October 11, 2008. The screenings are sponsored by Kraft.

Each month, from 9 a.m. to Noon, families can gain access to free blood pressure and glucose screenings. Other screenings such as for Total Cholesterol, A1C and Lipid Panel will be offered at discounted costs. All customers will enjoy free samples of healthy products during the events. Additionally at the May screenings, children will receive H-E-Buddy Bucks and exercise cards and all customers will receive healthy recipe and exercise information.

Each month, the screenings will have a particular theme, featuring special promotions and new offerings. The focus in May is mothers; June is children; July is a salute to the military; August is Back-to-School; September is Fitness; and October is Wellness, which will tie-in to an expo for customers.

In addition, customers can learn more about and sign-up for the My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum program. My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum Card is the only retailer-provided prescription discount card to offer discounts on 500 generic drugs for just $5 each, discounts on ALL generic drugs, discounts on ALL brands, a 90-day supply for $9.99 on 500 Generic Drugs, free routine health and wellness screenings, and now a free prenatal vitamin program. A one time enrollment fee of $5 is required.

The Prenatal Vitamin Program provides free prescription strength prenatal vitamins to all expecting mothers who are enrolled in the My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum program. Customers will be able to fill this prescription for a one month supply per order, for up to 12 months. The three prenatal vitamins offered are NatalCare, Cal-Nate and Prenatal Plus.
